In apertura ci saranno i Doombo, la nuova band made in Trieste che abbiamo visto per la prima volta live la scorsa estate allo StonerKras Fest.
Con un incendiario live nella mitica Rockhousedi Salisburgo si è conclusa la leg del tour dei Tytus insieme ai californiani Night Demon e agli Speed Queen!
I piemontesi UFOMAMMUT sono da più di vent’anni uno dei nomi più importanti della psichedelia mondiale. Riconosciuti in tutto il mondo come i pionieri del sound psichedelico, sono finalmente in procinto di tornare al Mostovna sulle ali del loro nuovo album intitolato ‘Fenice’ (2023, Neurot Recordings).
Gli sloveni Omega Sun, stoner rock da Koper, dal loro debutto nel 2013 hanno condiviso il palco con band come Unida, Yawning Man, Dopethrone, Kylesa, Pallbearer, Stoner Kebab. Nel settembre 2023 hanno pubblicato il secondo album ‘Roadkill’ via No Profit Recordings.
Ufomammut formed in the late 90s by Poia (guitars, FXs) and Urlo (bass, , FXs, synths), rising from the ashes of past band Judy Corda, together with Vita (drums).
For more than two decades, UFOMAMMUT has combined the heaviness and majesty of dynamic riff worship with a nuanced understanding of psychedelic tradition and history in music, creating a cosmic, futuristic, and technicolor sound destined for absolute immersion. The new album Fenice (‘phoenix’ in Italian) represents endless rebirth and the ability to start again after everything seems doomed. The album (out via Neurot Recordings) is the first recording with new drummer Levre joining Poia and Urlo, marking a new chapter in the band’s history and unveiling a more intimate, free sound for the group.
While the band is renowned for their psychedelic travels into the far reaches of the cosmos, Fenice is a much more introspective listening experience. The album was conceived as a single concept track, divided in six facets of this inward-facing focus. Sonic experimentations abound in the exploration of this central theme; synths and experimental vocal effects are featured more prominently than ever before as the band push themselves ever further into the uncharted territory of their very identity.
Each oscillation of this extraordinary album feels inevitable. The members of UFOMAMMUT are, after all, masters of their craft, and when it comes to creating enveloping sonic journeys into the unknown, it’s their uninhibited sense of exploration that breaches new sonic ground. Fenice is the sound of a band whose very essence has been rejuvenated and are welcoming the chance to create music in the way they know best; by unfolding carefully and attentively, by melding those extreme dynamics which render Fenice as a living and breathing creature, and by writing gargantuan riffs that herald their very rebirth.
Poia and Urlo are both founding members of rock ‘n’ roll graphic design collective Malleus, and of the label Supernatural Cat (who most recently put out the solo albums of Urlo, under the name, The Mon).
Like any good psychedelic trip, the music of Ufomammut has always been inextricably intertwined with visual art. Poia describes longer compositions ‘like a painting’ as if to reinforce the relevance and importance of visual art in Ufomammut’s music.
Doombo self titled EP is the first studio production of the band, tracked and recorded at the drummer’s home studio and mixed by sound engineer Alessandro Perosa.
Formed in 2022 the band’s lineup of drummer Ivan Kralj, bass player Ivan Rongione and guitarist/singer Pablo Scarpa felt the need to write its own material right from the start. They discovered they had a mutual appreciation of stoner doom music in particular, as reflected in the 4 songs of this EP, featuring influences from bands like Sleep, Black Sabbath, Boris, Mastodon, Melvins and The Sword.
The setlist presents titles such as ‘Kebab Pt.2’, ‘Multidimensional Invasion’, ‘Funk Lung’ and ‘From Hell’. The whole EP was recorded on tape, which contributes to give the record a vintage vibe. Low-tuned fuzzy riffs, roaring bass tones and the powerful drum playing makes Doombo a mixture of influences ranging from classic rock to doom metal.
On July 15th they’ll be playing their first gig opening at StonerKras Festival in Prosecco (Trieste) alongside Nick Olivieri’s Mondo Generator, 1000 Mods, Margarita Witch Cult and many more.
Gran fermento in casa The Dead Daisies, dopo il clamoroso annuncio della rentrée di John Corabi alla voce. La band sta festeggiando i dieci anni di attività con il Resurrected Tour in cui promuovono il doppio album ‘Best Of‘ uscito lo scorso agosto. Special guest in Europa nientemeno che Spike Gray, che torna così finalmente live per quello che è il suo primo tour al di fuori dei confini britannicidopo lo split con i Quireboys.
Per la data di giovedì 7 dicembre alla Cvetličarna di Lubiana saliranno sul palco anche Jelusick, band croata capitanata dal talentuoso Dino (Whitesnake, The Dead Daisies, Animal Drive), presenteranno i brani dal debut‘Follow The Blind Man’ uscito per Escape Music.

Ci saranno anche i Tytus per la Road to Stonerkras, la seratona di rock psichedelico in programma venerdì 7 aprile nella Casa della cultura-Kulturni Dom di Prosecco (Trieste).
Star della serata i NIGHTSTALKER, leggende dello stoner rock greco, che infiammano la scena europea da più di 30 anni con le loro sonorità tipicamente stoner rock. La band è in tour per celebrare il decennale del suo album di culto ‘Dead Rock Commandos’. Ospiti speciali della serata gli eroi heavy metal locali TYTUS, che torneranno ad esibirsi su un palco nostrano dopo una lunga pausa e lo faranno in occasione dell’uscita del loro nuovo EP ‘Roaming in Despair’..un vero e proprio release party quindi!! Ad aprire la serata gli HARAM!, band molto promettente con sonorità stoner, punk e noise !!
A far ballare i partecipanti invece ci sarà la rock crew Satisfaction Rock’n’Roll !!!

Primavera di fuoco per i Messa, che hanno appena annunciato il nuovo live album ‘Live At Roadburn‘ in uscita il 7 aprile per la label finlandese Svart Records.
Il set è stato registrato il 21 aprile 2022 al Roadburn Festival di Tilburg (Olanda) da Marcel Van De Vondervoort. Maurizio ‘Icio’ Baggio si è occupato di mixing e mastering a La Distilleria di Bassano del Grappa. Ospiti speciali della performance sono Giorgio Trombino (oud, duduk, sassofono), Alex Fernet (mandolino, chitarra acustica) e Blak Saagan (sintetizzatori), mentre sull’artwork spicca la cantante seduta sulla sedia di Morticia Addams.
La band ha inoltre annunciato dieci nuove, esclusive date con la line up estesa dell’album in altrettante location ‘speciali’: la partenza è da Koper dove suoneranno lunedì 15 maggioagli ex Magazzini del Sale ‘Libertas’.
Nick Oliveri in acustico! L’iconico bassista, già membro di band leggendarie come KYUSS e QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, sarà in concerto al Figa Rock Bar di Koper sabato 1 aprile. In apertura ci saranno i local heroesMarket Garden!
