After The Cult in Opatija, another 80s and 90s rock band is coming to the beach! The Sisters Of Mercy, pioneers of British goth rock, will performing on Saturday 26 July at the Cave Romane in Vinkuran, one of the most suggestive european open air just around Pula.

The Sisters and Croatia have a long story, which began in 1990 with the remarkable sold out show at the Dom Sportova in Zagreb for the ‘Vision Thing’ album tour. Then they returned to Zagreb three times, in 2006 at Klaonica, in 2009 at Tvornica Kulture and in 2023 at Boćarski dom.

The Sisters of Mercy were born in 1980 in Leeds from the project of two friends, Andrew Eldritch and Gary Marx, taking inspiration for the name from a song by Leonard Cohen. In the same year they released their first single ‘Damage Done’.

Their first album, ‘First and Last and Always’ (1985), introduced their distinctive gothic post punk sound and laid the foundations for their career. ‘Floodland’ (1987) followed with legendary singles such as ‘This Corrosion’ and ‘Lucretia My Reflection’, while their last studio album, ‘Vision Thing’, was released in 1990.

Dopo il concerto dei Cult ad Abbazia, arriva sul mare un altro nome di culto del rock anni 80 e 90. Questa volta si tratta di The Sisters Of Mercy, pionieri del goth rock britannico, che si esibiranno sabato 26 luglio alle Cave Romane di Vinkuran, uno dei più suggestivi palcoscenici open air europei a pochi chilometri da Pola.

Quella tra i Sisters e la Croazia è una lunga storia d’amore, iniziata nel 1990 con il memorabile concerto sold out alla Dom Sportova di Zagabria per il tour dell’album ‘Vision Thing’. Sono poi tornati a Zagabria tre volte, nel 2006 al Klaonica, nel 2009 al Tvornica Kulture e nel 2023 al Boćarski dom.
