Emerged from Rio Parana’ swamps dince 2013, Argentinian stoner doom trio Mephistofeles is called from critics ‘the next step in the evolution after the legendary Electric Wizard’. Now, energized by a powerful line up featuring Gabriel Ravera (guitar and vocals), Ismael Dimenza (bass), and Luca Frizza (drums), the band is ready for a new era.
This new chapter is marked by signing with powerhouse label Heavy Psych Sounds for a long-awaited reissue of Mephistofeles’ entire revered catalog, opening their music to a new generation of fans. The deal also paves the way for new music and extensive touring across Europe and the UK, building on their formidable live presence that has seen them share stages with greats like Acid King and Lucifer across South America. Get ready: the doom from the deep south is rising.

Heavy Psych Sounds Records is repressing their first three album ‘Whore’ (2015), ‘Im’Heroin’ (2017) and ‘Satan Sex Ceremonies’ (2019) in all new vinyl editions this October, pre-sale here.

​Slovenian heavy fuzz rockers Omega Sun are Aris Demirović (guitar), Igor Kukanja (vocals and bass) and Jure Vučko on drums. With their debut ‘Opium for the Masses’ (2017) they have established themselves as the most recognizable stoner name in the Slovenian scene. Their second album ‘Roadkill’ was released in 2023 via No Profit Recordings, and since then they have been tirelessly touring the main club across Europe and U.S. playing with Ufomammut, Hippie Death Cult, Brant Bjork, 1000Mods.

My Pitbull Lucifer, doom psychedelic rock from Pula, formed in 2021 with members from band of local scene such as grindcore legends Bolesno Grinje and Mighty Zazuum. Last April they have released ‘Gushing River’, the first video single from the upcoming album ‘Welcome to New Earth’.

StonerKras, cresce la partecipazione per la due giorni di musica a Prosecco

Grande partecipazione per StonerKras Fest, il raduno stoner organizzato dall’associazione Rocket Panda Management, che si è concluso nel weekend a Prosecco sul Carso triestino. La pioggia, che la sera prima aveva fatto saltare numerosi concerti all’aperto, ha risparmiato la serata di sabato 12 luglio, consentendo lo svolgimento della manifestazione nei tempi e modi previsti.

Protagonisti sul palco gli svedesi Truckfighters, che con il loro show– data unica in Italia, Slovenia e Croazia- hanno riempito lo spazio esterno del Kulturni Dom. Mentre gli stand di esposizione, il dj set insieme all’after party di domenica 13 luglio hanno animato il resto di questa quarta edizione, coinvolgendo pubblico di tutte le fasce d’età.

Sei in tutto le band, da gruppi come Veuve e Mr. Bison ormai lanciati verso una carriera internazionale, ai triestini Black Pope, tornati ad esibirsi a quasi dieci anni dalla loro ultima apparizione in occasione di questo festival.

A convincere il pubblico sono state anche le band inedite per queste zone di confine, i croati Them Moose Rush e gli Zolle, dietro la cui apparenza così naïf c’è in realtà una produzione di alto livello.

Attivati per quest’edizione il servizio di navetta e il campeggio, allestito nella dolina adiacente all’area concerti, che ha consentito di prolungare la permanenza al festival anche nella giornata di domenica. Trascorsa in relax all’ombra degli alberi in compagnia di nuove band della scena triestina come Green Fudge, Lucyd di Dorina Leka, e l’incursione nell‘indie folk con la torinese Cecilia all’arpa.

L’auspicio è quindi chiaramente quello di rivedersi a Prosecco l’anno prossimo, con sempre più band, artigiani, cibo -a proposito, che fine hanno fatto le griglie? :)-, nell’ottica di un festival punto di incontro tra gruppi provenienti da tutto il mondo e l’eclettica community locale.

Brant Bjork has spent over a quarter-century at the epicenter of underground rock & roll. A founding member and composer of the legendary desert band Kyuss, as well as propelling the seminal fuzz of fellow stoner rockers Fu Manchu from 1994-2000. Over the last 30 years Brant Bjork has embarked on his solo career as a singer, guitarist, composer and bandleader, founding his own record label and more, his history is a winding narrative of relentless, unflinching creativity.

In 2025 he’s touring with his Brant Bjork Trio featuring Mike Amster (Nebula, Mondo Generator, Spoon Benders) on drums and old friend and long time collaborator, desert rock pioneer Mario Lalli (Fatso Jetson, Yawning Man, Desert Sessions) on bass guitar.

The new release titled ‘Once Upon A Time In The Desert’ (2024) is the result of a long collaborative friendship between Bjork & Lalli . The music this band creates together is a heavy fluid groove, organic, honest desert rock & roll. The very elements of the genre were created by these veteran independent musicians. This record expresses the principles of those styles.

The debut was also the first title to be offered by the relaunch of Duna Records, founded in the mid-1990s by Brant Bjork, originally called El Camino Records.

MR. BISON Una delle migliori band del panorama heavy psych europeo. Tornano a Trieste dopo l’apparizione al Heavy Psych Sounds Fest dell’anno scorso. Oltre ai vecchi cavalli di battaglia la band ci presenterà anche i pezzi dell’ultimo lavoro ‘Echoes From The Universe’.

THEM MOOSE RUSH Li definiscono il presente e il futuro del rock alternativo e progressivo. La band unisce elementi del rock alternativo e dello stoner, ma soprattutto un sound molto rockeggiante, a volte quasi space rock. Completa la ricetta musicale la voce poco convenzionale del cantante Nikola. Davvero interessanti.

ZOLLE duo rock che dal vivo trova la propria massima espressione: approccio ludico, vibrazione assicurata. Stefano e Marcello suonano insieme dal secolo scorso, dal 1995, provengono da MoRkObOt, Viscera/// e Klown (e non solo). Nel 2024 il loro ultimo album ‘Rosa’, in cui le parti pesanti sono amorevolmente più pesanti e le parti melodiche sono mostruosamente più melodiche che in passato. Immaginate i Crowbar, a dieta, cantare i ritornelli dei Ramones ad un concerto degli AC/DC, con i Metallica di spalla

BLACK POPE Nascono nel 2009 a Trieste, Italia, come scherzo per permettere a Nevio (voce e chitarra) di prendersi gioco della musica attraverso canzoni piene di riferimenti alla cultura pop e generi classici come il rock e il metal. Dopo alcuni cambi di formazione realizzano 1 LP, 2 EP e suonano circa 50 concerti in Italia e all’estero. Per motivi personali decidono di sciogliersi nel 2016. Ora, dopo 9 anni, vogliono dare lo spettacolo d’addio che i fan meritano. Mizio, storico membro della band, viene nuovamente reclutato alla chitarra, mentre al basso e alla batteria si uniscono rispettivamente Save (Big Black Whale) e Zano (Sneaky Toy).

VEUVE  Vincitori del contest ‘Under35 Go To StonerKras’, i Veuve sono un trio heavy psych/stoner rock formato a Pordenone nel 2013. La band mescola il riffing pesante ispirato ai Kyuss, con parti pulite, sognanti ed evocative, pur iniziando il proprio percorso nel genere heavy rock, con spiccata presenza di fuzz. Negli anni, ha continuato a produrre musica abbracciando il prog-rock, le fughe psichedeliche e il post-rock. I Veuve traggono ispirazione da band come Elder, All Them Witches e Motorpsycho.

Acid Mammoth, doom metal dalla Grecia guidati dall’inconsueta coppia chitarristica padre Dad ‘The Riffer’ e figlio Chris Babalis Jr., sono più di una semplice band di amici…sono una famiglia!

Formati ad Atene nel 2015, nel 2019 firmano con la Heavy Psych Sounds Records, che li accoglie nel suo roster subito dopo il primo ascolto. A fine 2020 registrano il terzo full lenght ‘Caravan’, uscito nel marzo 2021 sempre via Heavy Psych Sounds Records, così come la prima stampa del debut omonimo del 2017 e le due ristampe di ‘Under Acid Hoof’. La band ha fatto due tour europei nel 2022 e nel 2023, oltre ad esibirsi in festival come Desertfest London, Desertfest Antwerp e SonicBlast Fest. Nel 2024 hanno pubblicato il loro ultimo album ‘Supersonic Megafauna Collision’.

​Omega Sun sono Aris Demirović (chitarra), Igor Kukanja (voce e basso) e Jure Vučko alla batteria. Con il debut ‘Opium for the Masses’ (2017) si sono imposti all’attenzione di stampa e pubblico come il nome stoner più riconoscibile della scena slovena. Il loro secondo album ‘Roadkill’ è stato rilasciato nel 2023 via No Profit Recordings, e da allora lo stanno portando instancabilmente in giro sui principali palchi nazionali e all’estero suonando con Ufomammut, Hippie Death Cult, The Winery Dogs, 1000Mods e molti altri.

Stoner Kras Fest 2025: Truckfighters prima band annunciata, aperte le prevendite

Sono i Truckfighters, punte di diamante della scena stoner rock mondiale, la prima band annunciata per Stoner Kras Fest, il raduno di musica psichedelica incentrato su ritmi stoner, doom e heavy psych giunto quest’anno alla sua quarta edizione.

Il festival, organizzato da Rocket Panda Management in collaborazione con Arci Trieste, si terrà sabato 12 luglio nella magica location B’lanc dietro il Kulturni Dom di Prosecco (Trieste).

‘La migliore band mai esistita‘, come disse Josh Homme nel documentario ‘Truckfighters Fuzzomentary’ (2011).

Il progetto nasce nel 2001 con l’incontro tra Niklas ‘Dango’ Källgren e Oskar ‘Ozo’ Cedermalm in una sala prove a Örebro in Svezia. La prima canzone che registrarono ‘Desert Cruiser’ divenne dopo pochi anni un vero e proprio inno del desert rock.

I Truckfighters hanno alle loro spalle cinque album, oltre a innumerevoli collaborazioni con altri artisti. 

Dopo 25 anni sono un pilastro della scena stoner rock mondiale, famosi anche per i loro folli spettacoli dal vivo!

Dopo quasi dieci anni tornano in Italia per uno show esclusivo: quella dello StonerKras Fest sarà infatti l’unica occasione per vederli dal vivo in Italia, Slovenia o Croazia in questo 2025!

Il festival offrirà zone ristoro, mercatini vari, aree relax/massaggi shiatsu e per la prima volta la possibilità di bivaccare in loco (capacità limitata).

L’etichetta discografica Heavy Psych Sounds Records & Booking si appresta a portare per la prima volta a Trieste l’ormai acclamata mini serie di festival HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS FEST !!

HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS FEST è un festival itinerante – negli ultimi anni è stato organizzato in Germania, Svizzera, Francia, Belgio, Olanda, Inghilterra ma anche a Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York e Baltimora.
